Jet-lag aside, the toughest thing about spending a few weeks in the southern hemisphere is coming back to realize that winter, with its frosty bite, invariably awaits in New York. It’s not that I can’t handle the cold – four consecutive Scottish winters proved I can. It’s the wind. So the challenge becomes this: What outerwear can take on soul-wrenching temperatures, blizzard-like conditions and gale force winds? The answer is a Moncler.
You see the thing a Moncler does (aside from conveying an unapologetically cool Alpine vibe) is actually insulate. Layers of wool, p0lymide, nylon, cashmere, elastane and down work to create a cocoon of warmth regulated by body temperature. As a result layering – arguably the Moncler Benjul lilac shell jacket lilac focal concept of winter dressing – now becomes an option. The whole thing is both luxe and easy, which is precisely why I love it.
There’s definitely something about Moncler’s iconic puffer jackets — so much so, in fact, that it’s the single product which has defined the brand. The jackets themselves have become one of the most premium and sought after items in the world and that’s no easy call to make. Moncler lilac shell jacket Drawstring hood and waist, padded, dolman sleeves, zipped front, pockets, elasticated cuffs, press stud-fastening hem tabs Two-way zip fastenings through front 100% polyamide; fill: 90% down, 10% feather Lightweight, warm, and best of all, Moncler-branded, the French label’s signature jacket has all the hallmarks of an icon: breaking into the public consciousness and becoming a symbol of those who know included. What could be more French, aprés ski-chic than that? Moncler Genius, that’s what.
“The world has changed,” Remo Ruffini, chairman and CEO of Moncler says of the change in model, which ushers in a new era. “The digital era has given us a new strength. The consumer wants a less filtered, more direct and above all continuous relationship. This strategic change in direction is the answer to this specific need, as well as a desire.”
Each designer, who presents their own take on the cheap moncler jackets , has bought their own touch to the heritage brand — and the results are extraordinary.
But Moncler hasn’t done away with in-house design either. Instead, Moncler 1952 celebrates the year in which the brand was founded in a small village in the Haute Savoie mountains. Set to introduce a new collection of jackets, outerwear and scarves, the team have worked with vitamin-hued colours including orange, blue, reds, intense purple and green to create a sports-inspired capsule set to have every winter lover happy. Following the Genius Project’s timeline, its official launch is slated for September.
